Insurance Requirements
All renters are required to carry valid personal auto insurance. Here's what you need to know before your rental.
What You Need to Bring
Valid Personal Auto Insurance
You must carry an active personal auto insurance policy that provides liability, collision, and comprehensive coverage. Your policy must be valid for the entire duration of the rental period.
Proof of Insurance Document
A physical or digital copy of your insurance card or declarations page must be presented at the time of vehicle pickup. We cannot release a vehicle without verified proof of coverage.
Coverage Must Extend to Rental Vehicles
Not all personal auto policies automatically cover rental vehicles. Please confirm with your insurance provider before your rental that your policy extends to non-owned or rented vehicles.
Minimum Liability Limits
Your policy must meet or exceed the minimum state-required liability limits for the state in which the vehicle will be operated. We recommend at least $100,000/$300,000 in bodily injury coverage.
Named Driver Coverage
All drivers operating the vehicle must be listed on your insurance policy or explicitly covered under a permissive use clause. Unlisted drivers may not be covered in the event of a claim.
Important Notice
Failure to present valid proof of insurance at the time of pickup will result in the cancellation of your rental. We strongly recommend confirming your coverage with your insurance provider before your rental date.
What's Not Covered
Damage resulting from use of the vehicle in violation of the rental agreement (e.g. off-road driving, racing).
Damage caused by driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Theft of personal belongings left inside the vehicle.
Damage caused by unauthorized drivers not listed on the insurance policy.
Mechanical damage caused by misuse or negligence.
